A couple of passionate runners and a shoe they knew they needed... which didn't exist... A shoe that went against the status quo. Spoiler: They didn't really care. They didn't mean to start a company, but when no one else would make the shoe they needed... they built it themselves.
Altra was founded on the belief that running was for relieving stress, not putting more stress on your body. That runners deserved a shoe that could help them run healthier, run further, run faster, and run for a lifetime.
